Welcome back to the final term of this academic year.

04/06/2019

This term, we begin to think about those students who will be joining us in September. Mrs Ruth Hoose, our Head of Learning for Year 7 and Transition Manager, has enjoyed meeting most of the Y6 students in their primary schools and will have met all students by our New Entrants Evening which is scheduled for Thursday 13th June at 7.00pm. All parents are invited to accompany their children as crucial transition and registration information will be shared. Parents are asked to bring with them the completed data information form that was sent in the welcome packs. This evening is an opportunity for students and parents to meet the tutor and new peers. The school uniform suppliers will be present, therefore orders can be made. The Maths Shop will run for the purchase of the recommended school calculator and other essential equipment. Students do not need to wear school uniform for this evening. Please note parking may be at a premium, so if it is possible to walk please do so.

All Y6 students who will be joining us in September will complete a 4 day Transition Week between Tuesday 18th and Friday 21st June. Students from within the Chenderit Cluster will be able to travel on the school buses without a bus pass for this week only and they must wear their primary school uniform. Students from Banbury and beyond the Chenderit catchment will need to make their own travel arrangements.

Students will need to bring with them:

- A sample of writing in the provided plastic folder
- Trainers for PE;
- Pens, pencils, rubbers, rulers, etc;
- A reading book;
- A rough note book and
- Something to eat and drink during the day.

We are all looking forward to working with you over the next 5 - 7 years and we hope the students’ time at Chenderit will be both happy and successful.
