Dear Parents and Carers
I am writing to update you about arrangements for the start of the spring term, following the Department for Education’s statement yesterday. The full article, which was released last night, can be read at: https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/education-secretary-sets-out-school-contingency-plans-for-england
We shall now welcome back students as follows:
- Students in years 11 and 13 will return to school for face-to-face learning on Monday 11th January 2021. Remote learning for these year groups will commence on Wednesday 6th January 2021. Students should log on to live lessons through Google Classrooms. Where live lessons are not possible, for example if a member of staff is unwell, or it is not appropriate to live-stream the lesson, details of work set will be on Show My Homework/SatchelOne.
- Students in years 7 – 10 and in year 12 will return to school for face-to-face learning on Monday 18th January 2021. Remote learning for these year groups will also commence on Wednesday 6th January 2021, as described above.
- In all year groups, the children of critical workers and our most vulnerable students (e.g. those with an EHCP, those with a social worker etc) may return to school on Wednesday 6th January 2021, though parents should inform us of this at firstname.lastname@example.org by midday on Tuesday 5th January 2021, so that we are able to create a register and safeguard all those who are expecting to attend.
I shall write again next week outlining our plan to support mass testing of students on their return.
I wish you a happy new year.
