Sixth Form Experience of Work
All students in our Sixth Form are required to arrange their own experience of work, with the support of the guidance team, during the first week in July.
The experience of work week is the culmination of a year’s worth of work in tutor time and core lessons in which students are guided to find placements that are linked to their career aspirations or give them an opportunity to develop transferrable skills that will benefit them in any work environment.
Each year students spend time in the autumn term researching and securing placements in the UK and abroad. Work experience is highly valued by students and prospective employers and if students have made well-considered choices for their placements, this can lead to the offer of future employment or allow successful networking to take place.
Certain careers also require work experience to have been completed so this is an important and exciting opportunity for our students.
